Indian Style Chicken Curry

If you are in search of traditional Indian chicken curry, then I must say that you are on the correct page. Because of its different versions and preparations, chicken curry is loved by almost everybody and therefore remains the most popular dish worldwide. Everybody has their own way of cooking chicken curry.

Many of us has the idea that chicken curry requires time as well as patience to prepare. But this article will guide you and show you how simple it is to make.

The things needed to prepare chicken curry are as follows: 12 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves- cut into strips, ½ cup vegetable oil, 4 large onions, curry powder and salt to taste.

Cooking method:

Heat the oil in a large pan on medium heat. To the heated oil, saute the onions until golden brown. Stir in the curry powder and salt. Add the chicken breasts when all the ingredients are mixed properly. Add water if required. Cover the pan and simmer over medium heat for around 45 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink from inside.

Remove the cover and cook for another 15 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves.

For a more flavored taste, you can marinate the chicken for few hours before you start actual cooking. For marination, you can take the chicken breasts in a bowl and add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, chili powder, salt plus little yogurt. Mix them all well and leave for atleast 2 hours.

Once your chicken curry is fully cooked, you can serve over hot cooked rice with some mango chutney, if desired.
