When it comes to buying those special baby toys for your little ones it can sometimes be a troublesome task. More often than not you can spend lots of money on beautiful, solid, hand carved wooden toys and your little treasure just ends up playing with the box instead!
What you have to remember is, although it is hard not to splurge loads of money on their toothless smiles and big blue eyes…it’s better to get them something small and sentimental that they can have as a keep sake when their older. It is tempting to get them the latest remote control car or huge Barbie doll house, as you as a parent have been waiting for this opportunity for a very long time. But try to hold off as your child as a baby won’t remember receiving such extravagant gits and won’t be able to play with them for another few years.
What do I get my ‘ickle cute new baby then for Christmas?
The best thing to do it going for the small stocking fillers such as the spin top toys, new clothes (although not too many as they’ll be grown out of them in no time) personalised Christmas gifts such as baubles with ‘my first Christmas’ on, small teddies, magnets, wooden blocks, hand moulding kits, and even a nice soft, granny knitted blanket would make a lovely present.
Or alternatively you could get things for their first bedroom or nursery such as beds, cots, duvet sets, curtains, rugs, wall stickers, musical mobiles, cushions and all manner of cosy things to make your baby’s room a lot more personalised and a customised to them. It’s a little more practical but it can be a real money saver and something they’ll get a lot more out of than huge presents there too small to play with!
