• Is it a broad-spectrum sunscreen? When the baby skin is exposed to direct sunlight for a long time, it will be susceptible to attacks from both UVB and UVA rays. For that, you should choose a product that protects the baby’s skin from both rays, hence a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
• Alcohol and fragrance-free. Just think of it this way; you wouldn’t want to choose any skin product that contains alcohol or fragrances. So would you buy it for your little princess? Of course not.

I use this on my face and body! It does not break me out and does not contain any irritants. It is moderately moisturizing, but is not heavy. If you are looking for a heavy, cream-like moisturizer, this doesn't have that texture. I purchased the "baby version" of the Cerave moisturizers because it does not contain parabens (too much controversy about parabens & too much incomplete research, so I decided to avoid when possible until more research is done on the subject).The only reason I docked one star is that most of the skin-benefitting ingredients (such as niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, ect.) are labelled after the preservative "phenoxyethanol". Phenoxyethanol is only allowed in formulas with a concentration of 1%-2% (and no more). Since ingredients in products are listed in descending order from highest concentration to lowest, most of the skin-benefitting ingredients are present in concentrations lower than 1%-2%. The picture of the ingredients is inaccurate, as it does not show "phenoxyethanol" anywhere on the list. This is misleading and can make one think that there is a higher concentration of skin-benefiting ingredients than in actuality.This is a nice lotion, nevertheless. It isn't greasy, but those with very dry skin might not find it moisturizing enough. Since it has a nice finish, I use it as my day lotion over my serums and under my sunscreen and makeup. I use a separate lotion for nighttime, since I like my nighttime lotion to be more rich and filled with more skin-repairing ingredients.I hope this helps!

My child has eczema requiring daily steroids. Since using this at every diaper change plus morning and nights we have not needed steroids. Im sure changing detergents, wipes, and soaps helped but this stuff is amazing. It's not greasy or too thick to rub on comfortably. The rice last is a month and it's worth every penny. We no longer use steroids daily!

My baby’s pediatrician recommended this to get his eczema prone skin to heal better, along with an eczema med. Soon after the few stubborn eczema spots on his body healed, I kept using this lotion in addition to petroleum jelly to help keep his skin moisturized and protected. I must say it has worked wonders on his skin. I do apply it few times a day, but then the weather has been really dry and his skin has always been on the dry side. I try to use all natural products with plant derived ingredients most times, but this lotion I really swear by! No other lotion has been able to heal his skin like this one and I have used aveeno, babyganics, baby bee etc. and as much as I think they are good, they weren’t enough to combat his skin’s dryness. It spreads easily and gets absorbed very quickly. Isnt heavy at all and my baby’s skin feels so soft and smooth. Once I did get a bottle ( from walmart) that has small white beads in it and the lotion wasn’t looking very smooth. But it was the last bottle in the shop So i just went ahead and used it nevertheless. It didn’t feel any different and was equally good as the smooth lotion. So in case u end up getting a batch thatmay have small white beads in it, I think it can still b safely used with no reduction in quality. Definitely recommend this lotion!

Previously I'd used Neutrogena's sheer sunscreen but have been transitioning to more organic and natural products. The active ingredient here is just 20% of Zinc Oxide. On it's own, Zinc Oxide can be used but you'll smell quite fishy and it tends to be a thick oily mess. This product has a light citrus scent as promised and does go on well but leaves you looking like a Geisha.I allowed time for it to sit on my skin for 20 minutes before leaving the house. Most sunscreens require this. I left it on for less than 30 minutes (very short trip) with a hat and still got sunburned on my face. The directions tell you to re-apply every 40 minutes if sweating and who isn't in 80+ degree heat, so that's a hassle. Also, at just 2 fl oz. you could go through this in a single day or single use if applied all over. At this price point that's a lot of money - too much for me. So my search for inexpensive non-toxic sunblock NOT sunscreen really, continues.

After years of my wife’s experimenting, tinkering, and general money-wasting on all sorts of natural and mineral-based sunscreen options, the search is over. I was looking to replace my beloved DeVita Body Block which sadly changed its formula. I can't say this is quite as good but for now it will do.TruKid Sunny Days Daily 30 Plus has a good smell, is not too sticky or greasy and doesn't make me look like a ghost. Not sure how effective this sunscreen is as I did get burnt a wee bit. But then it might have been because I was out in the sun too long.It is expensive and slightly too thick for my taste. However, I like the ingredients and that it rates highly on the EWG website. I will continue to use this product until something better comes along.

This sunscreen is great for anyone that is sensitive to ingredients. I have very sensitive skin and the normal sunscreen ingredients sometimes will break me out, so I try not to use anything with them. I like this as it goes on smooth, it is not greasy, and it blends in easily. The titanium dioxide will not make me break out as it is safe for babies. I also only buy makeup with sunscreen if the active ingredient is titanium dioxide and not something else so as not to break out my face. This sunscreen is gentle enough to use on faces.

When my baby was 6 mos, I asked her pediatrician what sunscreen she recommended. She told me that I should look for a sunscreen with ONLY Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. I went to Target and searched through all the sunscreens including the baby brands. This sunscreen was the only one I found with only those 2 ingredients. I did research on the chemicals, and this is what I discovered:-The oxides are physical sunblocks, literally a barrier to stop the sun before it reaches your skin. This sunscreen lays on the surface of the skin, which is why they are so visible and chalky sometimes.-The other sunscreens are a class of chemical sunblocks - avobenzone, oxybenzone, PABA, et al. These are designed to absorb into your skin - oil-soluble, and react with UV light in a sacrificial process. Which is why they exhort people to reapply every few hours. Unfortunately their solubility, which makes them aesthetically appealing since they "disappear ", also means that they can accumulate and react in the body.-Zinc/titanium oxides are not absorbed by the body at all, and are nonreactive at STP, so they are much safer, but it may leave your skin looking ghost-like while you wear it.This sunscreen sells for $9.99 for 3 oz and $13.99 for 5 oz at Target, so Amazon's prices are slightly cheaper.Summary: This sunscreen is the safest for your baby/children. It is now the only sunscreen our entire family uses. You may notice it doesn't completely disappear, but I'd much rather have a slightly white chalky completion than skin damage - especially for my children.

I have had several skin cancers (basal and squamous), so my dermatologist recommended finding a sunscreen that has zinc oxide and/or titanium oxide - which this Neutrogena baby lotion has both. I use it a lot since I live in Florida. The lotion rubs in well. Unfortunately Neutrogena has changed the formula (only having zinc oxide with spf 50 instead of 60) and I tried that one, but it does not rub in well and really dries my skin out. I just hope they continue making this one with both ingredients.

Do the research! Many big name suncreens on the market are toxic for you! I used the Thinkbaby sunscreen on myself when I was pregnant when we went to Playa del Carmen for our babymoon. We went to this natural water park called Xcaret that has these underground rivers and they were very strict about which sunscreens you brought in b/c they wanted to protect the natural wildlife and habitats in the water. They have security at the entrance checking your bags for these chemical sunscreens and force you to throw them away and provide you with mineral sunscreen. Finally, I've come to the point that I could be 100% confident to say that I know this product very well by now. I am a father of 5 year-old and 3 year-old boys and I've used it for them for more than a year now.Pros:1. It doesn't feel thick. It feels cool and leaves shiny, thin layer of the sunscreen on the skin.2. EWG Rating of 1, which is really good because this product doesn't use harmful ingredients.3. Very water resistant.BUT... that's all about it....Cons:1. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE and the price is not stable. The prices range between 8 to 17 USD per 3 ounces bottle.2. TOO OILY. That shiny, thin layer doesn't go away no matter what. It will make your face shine for a good number of hours. Not only that this doesn't fade away easily due to its strong water resistance.3. TOO PAINFUL to eyes. I have to take extra care to apply it to my sons' faces. This gets very tricky especially if you have active boys like me. Even more than 8 hours of applying it, it hurts my eyes so bad when I take shower.4. DOES NOT PROTECT YOU FROM GETTING SUN BURN and/or TAN. No matter how many times and how much you apply, you will end up with nice brown tan. Even applying generous amount of this sunscreen with frequent application, it did not help me or my children avoid getting tan or sun burn.Bottom Line:If you're not so much considerate of getting 100% SUNSCREEN, which in fact it is made for initially, and you're more concerned about environment and your/your baby's health, get this. BUT be careful not to get this into your loved one's eyes.If you want to get maximum sun-blocking feature as well as environmentally and dermatologically safe product that does not hurt you or your baby's eyes, please look elsewhere.I am researching again and found Adorable Baby product more appealing. Please suggest me if you found anything better. Thanks.

This is a wonderful baby sunscreen! Everything about it is great, there are no cons. It smells delightful, like orange blossoms, it is easy to rub in, and my baby has never had a burn while using it. My husband and I have started using it, too, because it is so great. We used to use Neutrogena, which is also great, but the smell of this one is much more pleasant.

Great little sunscreen stick! Good EWG rating, small and handy, easy to pop into my pocket or purse. I use it on my 4 year old, who greatly prefers a sunscreen stick than to have sticky sunscreen gooped on him. He likes that this doesn't feel sticky and greasy and wet after. It goes on very white, but actually it's useful for me so I can tell if I've missed a spot. I have to rub it in very well to get rid of the white, and my son sometimes looks like a Kabuki dancer when I'm done, but it works very well to keep the sun away from him.It's expensive, but we've had the same stick for ages and it seems to last a long time.

I am a huuuuuge Mustela fan - their stelatopia line single-handedly cured my 2 year old's eczema - so I was excited to try their sunblock stick. I used it on my kid's face and neck and, as I undressed her for her bath that evening, I noticed that she had a light red rash (non-raised, just discolored) across the areas where I had applied the sunblock. There was a very distinct line where the rash ended and it followed the application line. I will continue to use their other products but I'll have to pass on Mustela's sunscreen.

I actually went to return this item bc I made the mistake of not looking at the size and comparing it to chapstick before I purchased it. It was my own fault for not being more aware this, but I was unpleasantly surprised how SMALL this was! It's chapstick small. On the contrary, I went ahead and used it and was pleased this item goes on very smooth, rubs in easily on baby's delicate skin, and works well! It's a good facial stick, non greasy, I do like this brand. 4 stars only due to the tiny size and price, however, it clearly states how much is in the thing. A little bit pricier but this brand is usually $$

So far I am in love with this Badger sunscreen. I just started using it this Spring and so far it's great! It's not full of crazy chemicals, it goes on thick but smooth and seems to cover quite well. My daughter is so fair skinned that I am always worried about her getting sunburnt. Wearing this sunscreen she's been able to be outside without incident. Also, it seems to come off in the tub more easily than a brand we were using previously. (It's still difficult, though, since zinc oxide sunscreens have the consistency of butter or nightcream) Overall, very impressed with Badger.

this is the best pre- made sunscreen you can buy- the ingredients are amazing. i have the badger baby balm which is the same ingredients as the baby sunscreen but the sunscreen has zinc oxide added. when i bought this i really was wondering about the bad reviews saying it didnt rub in and what not. maybe its ppl used to a cheap, toxic ingredient sunscreen are reviewing it, bc when i put it on it rubbed in just how i expected it to. it has beeswax in it, its thick, it just means you dont use a lot. its not that liquid sunscreen i grew up using. the 14 dollar bottle will last a very long timed. i can do me and my 2 kids with maybe a tsp, it doesnt take a lot. it works- i was severely burned one day out at coney island prior to using this. i get lazy with reapplying and i am a very sensitive burner. i maybe put it on 2x in a 5 hr period swimming and i get a little burned but it is tamed down the next day. if you want another natural alternative- red raspberry seed oil works. just get a good quality oil. i have used that as well, just trying to use the badger up first.

I bought this early this summer. This is the second bottle. It's thick but a great product. I do not notice the smell much. My 5yo thinks it smells good……. i use to buy regular sunscreen….This year my daughter has not gotten as dark as she usually does with the other SPF. She's slightly tan but not as much as she usually is. The product it great! I use it on myself as well.

As you have read from other reviews, this sunscreen is recommended by dermatologists and people swear by this sunscreen. I wanted to add some information regarding the difference between the "Sensitive" and "Baby" sunscreens. And I would like to attest to the fact that it is really 'sensitive'.Here is what happened:I use a product called Balneol (to prevent hemorrhoids - awesome stuff by the way) - and the bottle looks surprisingly similar to the Blue Lizard Sensitive version. So one morning, before my coffee and half asleep, I accidentally used this sunscreen where it is NOT supposed to be used - because the sun NEVER, EVER shines there! I was expecting the skin on that very sensitive part of my body to start to sting or burn.... but it didn't! Now granted, I wiped it off as quickly as I could - but the sunscreen is water-resistent, so it is hard to really completely remove it. And I was so surprised and truly relieved that when the product said "sensitive" it really was "sensitive"!!!! Now granted I don't recommend you do this experiment yourself - but having been the reluctant guinea pig, I can truly attest that it is ok for 'sensitive skin'!!! :)Difference between "Baby" and "Sensitive": I called the company to find out whether I should get the "baby or sensitive" formula for my 2 year old twins (oh, did I mention twins? That may be why I was so tired and accidentally used the wrong product!!!) The person I spoke to said that the two products are really very similar and she recommended getting whichever one was cheaper at the time because they are both equally good and equally sensitive.I hope that you may benefit from my mistake!PS/Update from May 2017: My kids are now almost 5 years old and we are still using this sunscreen. However Blue Lizard has another version called "Sport". It is meant to last longer on the skin, even when swimming or sweating heavily (their website says 240 minutes in whirlpool water). The sport version does have chemicals (e.g., parabens) whereas the sensitive/baby does not. And the sport version is much "runnier" (the sensitive/baby versions are very thick and takes a moment to rub in) whereas the sport version rubs in very quickly and easily. I end up using both. I use the sensitive/baby on days when we are out in the sun, but not direct sun all day long (e.g., going to a park). And I use the sport version when we are going to the beach or hanging out all day at a pool. So if you are anti-chemical and want only natural ingredients, stick with the baby/sensitive versions. But if you prefer no chemicals, but are willing to use them on occasion (e.g., all day at the beach) then you may want to try the sport version as well.

After reading through I don't know how many reviews on sunscreen, I opted to spend $30 and buy this. I am very happy that I did. I have a 21 month old and it works great on her. It is a little difficult to rub in and will leave some white streaks - but what do we care. All I care about is that it is protecting her from the sun and it does just that. I would recommend to any parent for their little ones.

I read on some newsletter that this is the best sunscreen for babies, and I'm inclined to agree. I love that the bottle turns pink in the sun so that you know when you should put the sunscreen on. I also like that, while it's a bit thick and sticky, I can tell where I've applied the sunscreen on my baby. I also use it for myself since I have pretty sensitive, pale skin and I like this better than the facial sunscreen I bought last year! It blends in with a little effort (not true of most other mineral sunscreens I've tried) and it provides a pretty long-lasting coverage. I will say that it's impossible to get off without a lot of scrubbing if you happen to shower within a couple hours of application... which is probably a good thing for, say, trips to the pool or beach.
