The lid fits nice and tight, even when thrown. Great price, and good quality plastic.The only flaw with these cups are the straws:1. There needs to be a way to purchase extra straws. 2. There is not a stopper, and the straw is easily pulled out of the lid.*** I fixed problem #2 by using low-heat, hot glue to create a stopper rim. (See pics)

My child has been using these cups since he was 1. I don't use the straws and use disposable straws instead. I just don't have the time to scrub the straws with a mini brush cleaner. Regular straws fit fine. These cups are not leakproof but they don't leak much. They will leak if you turn them upside down and shake. If dropped from a high chair, it's really rare that they will open. My son has dropped these cups hundreds of times and they've only spilled once or twice. Usually, there's just a small splatter that could be wiped up quickly. I wouldn't even call it a splatter, it's more like a few drops. I would advise inserting the straw after putting the lid on. If the straw is attached to the lid when you put it on the cup, you might squirt some of the liquid out of the straw when you push the lid down. Otherwise, these are great little cups. They are dishwasher safe which is a plus.

These are amazing! My 8 month old needed an option for drinking his milk while sitting up. In comes these super affordable and easy to clean cups. Honestly when he does get excited and toss them about some milk comes out but not a ton. I expected it from a non pressurized straw. I love that they are dishwasher safe!My only complaint is that I did not get matching cups and lids to straws. I got a red, yellow, blue and green cup, two blue one yellow and an orange lid, and a yellow, blue and two red straws. I’m over it though because honestly we just grab the one that’s on top anyway. But if I had multiple kids I might want the color set up.

I have been using three sippy cups exclusively for my 15 month old son. Sorry in advance for the length.... I'm just trying to help people save a little money and frustration by sharing my experience.Munchkin Click Lock Straw Cup (we have 6)Size - 9 oz., but there are no ounce indicators on the cup and until I looked online I didn't know how much it held.Cleaning and Dry time - Two piece straw, lid, lock, and cup. I have to use a special bottle brush to clean the cup part because it is too narrow to fit my hand and sponge. The only issue with drying is the soft rubber straw portion collects water in the neck and I have to blow it out. Wiping the exterior after a messy meal is a process because of the ridges and uneven surfaces.Assembly - 5 pieces and honestly not my favorite activity after putting DS down for the night. Assembling this one is finicky and until I learned the tricks, it was hit or miss when it came to ease of drinking for my son. You have to put the soft rubber straw in and pull hard until you hear an audible click. Then assemble the hard straw by pushing it in in a circular motion until it doesn't go any farther. This creates a nice seal. Unless it's put together perfectly, sucking is very difficult if not impossible. My husband quit trying and refuses to use this cup.Leakage - It leaks. Most of the time it leaks out of the top of the straw because he left liquid in it. Sometimes there's an air bubble that pushes a small amount of liquid out of the top. I have yet to see a leak coming from the lid and cup seal. Long story short, I'm not comfortable with it sitting sideways on furniture. We don't use the straw-lock feature unless it's in a bag.Summary - Assembly is annoying and I don't like having to use a bottle brush to clean the cup. When getting ice from the refrigerator I have to create a funnel with my hand so the ice goes directly into the cup; if I don't, ice goes all over the floor because of the small opening. It's not my favorite sippy, and I only use them when the other sippy's are in the dishwasher.OXO Tot Straw Cup (we have 4)Size - 11 oz/300mL. I LOVE that the ounces are marked down the side of the cup so I know exactly how much he is drinking.Cleaning and Dry time - Two piece straw, lid and cup. I can fit my hand and sponge inside the cup to wipe it down before putting it in the dishwasher. Big plus. The straw pieces dry nicely and no water collects anywhere for the most part. This is my favorite meal time cup because the exterior is smooth and easy to wipe down.Assembly - Very simple. Pull the soft rubber straw piece in until it locks in place. Put the hard straw piece in and fasten the lid. Nothing fussy about this one. Husband will put this style together (successfully).Leakage - It leaks if it's sideways, but I've had less leaking from this than the Munchkin cups. We don't use the locking feature unless it's going in a bag.Summary - It's not my favorite cup for crib or play time, but I absolutely love it for meal and snack times. Wiping it down is super easy. It's also easy for getting ice because the neck is so open; I don't have to hold my hand in a special way to get the ice in.Thinkbaby Thinkster Straw Bottle (we have 3)Size - 9 oz/260mLCleaning and Dry time - Two piece straw, lid, lock shield, handle, and cup. This one is six pieces, but unlike the Munchkin you don't have to work as hard to get it functioning. For cleaning purposes I don't like that the short straw piece has a closed end because water gets in there and you have to suck it out or it will sit stagnant (however, this feature prevents leaks so I tolerate it). The rest is an easy clean and assemble. Not easy to wipe down after meals if the handle is on the cup. Downside: have to use a bottle brush.Assembly - Simple. The first couple uses I found a little difficult to thread the small straw section into the lid, but it got easier after a couple tries. I like that you don't have to assemble the whole cup before use; sometimes I leave off the handle and other times I don't put on the locking shield. However, my son really likes flipping the locking shield down and up, so I can't leave it off as often as I'd like.Leakage - Zero leaks. Because the straw end is closed, I haven't had any leaks whatsoever and I have never used the locking shield.Summary - Absolutely amazing sippy cup. I use it for every occasion except meals because I don't like wiping around the handles. The small-ish neck opening makes it less convenient for putting ice in the cup.After three months of trial and error, this is our sippy situation: OXO is for meal time and Thinkbaby is for naps and drinking throughout the day. Munchkins sit on the shelf and are used as back up. Hopefully this helps.

I ordered 3 straw sippy cups at the same time from Amazon to compare them all. I got this THINKBABY one, one by Skip Hop, and the LOLLACUP. The Skip Hop is the most affordable at around $6, and the Lollacup was most expensive at $15. The ThinkBaby is comfortably priced between the other two.Aesthetic Design:Skip Hop: the design is really cute and it comes in many colors and animal options. It has a strap on the side for carrying instead of handles, which to me is a negative. Inspecting it up close, this product does not feel like it will last as long as the others. The plastic and the colors seem cheaper.ThinkBaby: the quality of the materials and finish is the best of all 3 bottles so it looks like a very high end bottle, but it only seems to come in 1 color on Amazon so not much flexibility. I love that it has handles which you can also easily remove.Lollacup: I like this look the best because it's very adorable with the little chicken face. However, it doesn't seem to fit into any cup holders unless you remove the handles, which is unfortunate. The bottle is not as easy as the ThinkBaby to hold without its handles since it is kind of round and chunky.Straw Design:Skip Hop: this is a normal one piece straw. It's very generous of Skip Hop to provide an extra straw with the purchase so you can change them out when the first gets too worn.ThinkBaby: an interesting straw design because it has a very small X-cut opening at the top. This straw seems to be a great training straw as the flow of the water or liquid will be less than the other two bottles. If your toddler bites the straw to make the opening bigger and then sucks, the water will come out faster.LollaCup: has a weighted bottom on the straw, which is meant to help toddlers get the water at the bottom even when they tilt the cup up, however it did not seem to work perfectly and remained in the same spot even when tilted by me. I don't find this feature helpful or necessary.Opening/Closing Mechanism:All three bottles click into a lock to hide the straw and it is not difficult to close them. When opening them, I found the Skip Hop to be a little "sticky" to open...like rubber dragging against plastic difficult but I think a toddler can still open it. The Lollacup was the easiest and smoothest to open, and the ThinkBaby was somewhere in the middle.Spills:Skip Hop: when flipped upside down, dripped a steady stream of water where the straw left a small opening with the top. If shaken, will definitely spill water out.ThinkBaby: when held upside down, no water came out at all. When shaken upside down, drops of water did come out but it was not a large amount. I was very impressed by this bottle as it was the best in the spill tests I did.Lollacup: held upside down, drops of water did come out. When tilted at a 45degree angle, a stream of water came out. Water definitely came out if shaken but not as much as with the Skip Hop bottle.I can't yet comment on longevity...I believe the ThinkBaby will last the longest with the Skip Hop lasting the least.

This cup is great! Easy to transport, easy to hold and most of all NO leaking!! However the cons are:cleaning: there are multiple parts (6) in total that should be cleaned after each use, The straw is in 2 parts and then there is a rubber removable seal (which prevents leakage) that must be cleaned after each use as well along with the cup and (2 piece) cap. Also, VERY IMPORTANT FOR SAFETY- The sippy part (where the child places their mouth) of the straw becomes flimsy and thin, the pieces can break off and become a CHOKING HAZARD. To prevent this from happening all you have to do is purchase the replacement straws and change every month or so.

These cups are accurately described above. They don’t spill, don’t sweat, don’t leak and they are easy for little hands to hold, fit in cup holders, have a bendable upper straw that fits under an enclosure and are easy to clean. It is easy to clean because the straw is a two-part system (see attached photo), in which the bottom part detaches and can go in the silverware section of the dishwasher. I have had similar straw sippy cups where the straw is one piece. The straw either split or was so difficult to clean that I ended up giving them away.I love that you can close the sippy and keep the straw clean. My boys love the superhero graphics and want to use these cups all the time.One thing to note is that the flow is more restricted than a regular straw. It took my 18-month old some effort to get the fluid to his mouth. My older kids (3 and up) didn’t seem to have an issue.

I'm not sure why companies can't just make a normal straw cup. Why do we need so many parts? and most of all, why is there always a part that's "closed", but has a cross/slit in it? making it almost impossible to sip? The part where the inner straw meets the rubber, is basically closed off. The Thinksters cup i previously bought was like that as well (except at the tip). I filled it with water myself and tried to drink and had a hard time myself, I can't imagine how frustrated my 14 month old was! I suppose its an effort to make it leak proof.

These are great! Playtex has updated their cups to make them a little sleeker, and the stopper insert seems more secure and easier to clean. These are insulated well; I gave my son milk in the morning in one of these and it was still cold a couple hours later. These were a great upgrade to the cups we had for our firstborn in 2012.

I have ordered four of these items for my kids over the period of a year and am already prepared to purchase them a couple of more times.As an experienced owner, I can tell what will happen during the life cycle of this bottle1- Early days: You will be very happy for having bought the cutest straw bottle on the market. Skip hop is the leading producer of the most attractive child gadgets. They can be made sets starting from the fork to backpacks and kids really love the concept. I see that most kids in my son's daycare have some sort of skiphop items.2- The straw will go off: That is the weakest link as stated my some reviewers. At some point you will notice that the straw is not in the place and at most cases you will not even be able to find it since your kid might have dropped it somewhere.3- The colors will fade due to being frequently washed in the dishwasher. That time (after a couple of months of purchase) it will be still very functional so you may not care that much.4- The cap that hides the pipette will be lost and pipette will stay exposed to outside which is the end of the life and there you need a new one.This order of events happened to all my purchases. Apart from that, it may leak when turned upside down and shaked but you may complete the life cycle without experiencing this problem as well. My kids love these items and carry them everywhere we go. Therefore, I can not blame the company for not making more durable items (they survive pretty well considering the constant abuse from 2-3 years old kids).Will keep buying as long as the below $6 price stays..

If you are actually at the point of reading reviews such as this, I'm guessing you are as annoyed as I am at how amazingly frustrating kids' liquid holders can be. Not necessarily to fault the manufacturers -- we are, after all, asking them to produce a bottle that retains a variety of liquids 100% of the time except when your baby sucks on the straw, performs said function while being resistant to being dropped and chewed and banged, and is also easy to clean. It turns out these are not easy criteria to engineer into a bottle.Having tried many different bottles, I can say that this is our favorite go-to bottle, and we now own 4 for our 2 kids. For awhile we thought the Camelbak bottles were our favorite, but those have 2 limitations: their straw is a little more prone to slipping into the bottle and creating a complete spill of the entire bottles' contents, and they are a little too wide and get stuck in many cup holders. These Skip Hop bottles win on both of those aspects. The straws can still slip a little and leak, and I would have given 4.5 stars if possible -- but they are hands down the best bottles I've found, so I rounded up.

Shocked when I dropped my kids cup and found Black mold in the bottom. this is disgusting and toxic! I can't believe that when I thought I was using a healthier alternative to plastic I was in fact handing my children black mold for them to hold on to and to inhale. Huge design flaw! All cups from any company who has a similar design should be taken off the market. Parents should be outraged and posting pictures of their own black moldy cups to expose this problem.

I've had a few of these for over a year and was hesitant to order more because of the photos posted of mold in other reviews. So, my husband just broke the bottom of one of them off and there's no issue. They've been great for my 12mo up through my 4yo. My youngest can't open and close the lid yet without help but the overall quality and longevity of the cups makes it worth it. Love them!

 I’ve been searching high and low for a Thermos for my toddler. Based on the great reviews I tried this twice. The first time it showed up obviously damaged so I returned it thinking it must be cheap. After not finding anything else I bought it again. One day into using it I find milk everywhere. I watched to see if my toddler was throwing it. No, it leaks just by turning it over. I took it apart and put it back together carefully just to be sure everything was tight. Not as assembly issue. See video. Can’t understand the rave reviews. Do not waste your money.

We absolutely love this cup, in fact since purchasing the red one I'm reviewing we've purchased 6 more in various colors. Not only is this cup really cute, it's incredibly functional. Before you ask, yes it leaks. In my experience most sippy cups do, if they don't they've been too hard for my daughter to drink from. I wasn't looking for a cup that had zero leakage, I was, however, looking for a USA made, BPA free, dishwasher safe, plastic cup with a lid and valve-free straw that would be easy for my daughter to hold and drink from. Check, check, and check. The handles are a great size for little hands to get a good grip on, and I love that they're removable for cleaning. The valve-free straw allows my little girl to get as much liquid as she likes without the complicated mouth movements the valved variety require. There are clear markings on the side so I know how many ounces she's getting. I also like the fact that the straw comes apart, I feel like it's easier to clean. The straw is also wider than most other sippy straws and that makes it easier to clean, too.It's durable also. These cups have been dropped and thrown with no damage at all. If your kid turns it upside down, yes you'll have liquid on the floor, but this cup is amazing. It is the only sippy style cup we use now. If you're on the fence this mom says buy! Before Lollacup my daughter wouldn't drink anything except breast milk straight from the source. We tried tons of different brands and styles of sippy cups and this is the only one she liked.

Could have been a very good cup with a few tweaks.Pros-This is easier to drink than Think Baby cup.-Cute and colorful design.-Easy to remove handles. They can be removed from the bottom. No need to twist open the cap and risk spilling milk.-Easiest straw cup to clean. It also comes with a straw brush. All the parts are simple to remove and put together. There's no little nook that will collect mold.-Doesn't have lingering smell like other plastic bottles where you can't get rid of Pedialyte smell ever.Cons-There's a problem with air pressure (just like one video said) especially when you put in warm milk or put the bottle in the fridge. Milk would shoot out unexpectedly when you open the top. Sometimes as much as half an oz would come pouring out from the straw. Making a huge mess!-It will spill milk if a baby turns the bottle. Or drops it on the floor. So it's not a good drinking cup in a car seat.-The paint came off after the bottle rolled on the floor one time.-The straw turned yellow after a couple uses. Looks gross!-There's no measuments indicator. The cup is unconventional shape, so it's hard to gauge how much my baby drank.-It's larger on top and would tip over easily.-It won't fit my bottle holders on stroller or car seat:(

I love this cup!!! Below are reasons why!1. The straw is weighted and baby can sip without frustration.2. Easy for my baby to handle and use.3. It's easy to put together. I've used a lot of cups and sometimes all the parts are overwheming to clean and keep track of.4. It's easy to clean!! It even comes with a little tool to clean the straw!5. It's BPA free and free of all those other things that frightens us moms.6. It is made of high quality and you can tell a lot of thought went into this.7. It's ADORABLE!! I think there isn't a cuter cup out there.8. It's made in the USA!!!!
